3_DesignR_Characters (La Torre)

Una figura materna apre la porta della camera del figlio e si affaccia su un panorama onirico ed inquietante. Un disegno cattura la sua attenzione e la spinge verso un'intrepida scalata ad una torre fatta di fogli di carta disegnati. Dei “mostri” (dall'aspetto di disegni fatti da un bambino) incroceranno il suo cammino. Alcuni la aiuteranno, altri la ostacoleranno. Il tenace sforzo della mamma la porterà anche dentro la torre dove diventa una figura fluttuante (la “mamma metafisica”). In questa nuova veste riuscirà a raggiungere la cima della torre, metafora del mondo del figlio.
Qui troverà Sam intento a disegnare. L'abbraccio tra madre e figlio coronerà l'avvicinamento emotivo tra i due.

The mother opens the child's room and faces an eerie dreamscape. A floating paper captures her attention and pushes her to start an intrepid climbing to the drawing composed tower. Some "Monsters" (resemblating children drawings ) will cross her path. Some will help, others will hinder her. The tenacious efforts of the mother will bring her inside the tower, where she will come out as a floating figure (the "metaphysical Mom"). With this new appearance she'll manage to reach the top of the tower, being the tower a metaphor of the essence of the son's world.
Here she will find Sam drawing. Their embrace will finally establish the emotional connection between the two.

A sinistra, la forma reale; a destra, quella del sogno -la "mamma metafisica"-
On the left, her true form in reality; on the right, her dream form -the "metaphysical mom"-
 

Sam, il figlio / Sam, the son
Con i suoi disegni costruisce una torre che lo allontana dalla madre.
With his drawings he builds up a tower that turns -and also estranges- him away from his mother)

I mostri disegnati da Sam / The monsters drawn by Sam.
Nati dalla carta, alcuni aiutano la mamma nel suo cammino verso Sam, altri lo ostacolano.
Born from paper, some of them will help the mom during her journey to Sam -they'll look rounder-, some others will interfere -they'll look more pointy/cross hatched-
